yesterday maintained that Teoh Beng Hock could have
been strangled prior to his fall.
She told the Royal Commission of Inquiry that the
contusions found on the left side of the political aide's
neck indicated manual strangulation.
Dr Pornthip, 56, said there were three scenarios which
may have caused the contusions.
"Teoh could have been manually strangled with bare hands.
"His neck was hit with a blunt object, or his neck was
pressed onto the object, or both," she said, when
questioned by conducting officer Amarjeet Singh yesterday.
She said there were coin-like marks on the left side of the
neck, which could have been caused by fingertips or
rounded objects.
Amarjeet, however, said he could not see
the coin-like marks on Teoh's neck.
Those present in court burst out laughing when Dr
Pornthip replied: "That's because you
are not a doctor."
