The magistrate’s court fined Tian Chua RM3,000 and sentenced to 6
months in jail for biting a policeman more than 2 years ago.
Then, the High Court replaced it with a RM2,000 fine and, in default, two
months jail, adding that it was not in the public interest for a by-election
to take place.
Going by the Constitution, Tian Chua should be disqualified as MP for Batu.
So the only way out for Tian Chua to remains as a MP is thru the Appeal
Court against the High Court decision by reducing further the fine from
RM 2000 to say, RM 1950.00.
If the Appeal Court will to uphold the High Court's decision, then it's
holy shit for Tian Chua and a by-election will be in the air for Batu folks.
