48 HRS TO STOP UGANDA'S GAY DEATH PENALTY

Dear friends,

We have 48 hours to save thousands of gay Ugandans from possible execution. On Wednesday, Parliament could pass a law that imposes the death penalty for homosexuality. An international outcry shelved this bill last year -- if we can ramp up the pressure again and keep the gay death penalty law from reaching a vote this week, it will die when Parliament closes in two days. Click below to sign the petition, then forward to everyone:
It's monstrous -- thousands of Ugandans could face the death penalty -- just for being gay. On Wednesday, Parliament may pass a law that punishes homosexuality with death – we have 48 hours to act.

We've stopped this bill before, and we can do it again. Ugandan President Museveni is scared of losing valuable international aid from the West -- after a massive international outcry last year, he stopped the bill from coming to a vote. But political unrest is mounting in Uganda, and religious extremists in Parliament are hoping confusion and violence in the streets will distract the international community from a second push to pass this hate-filled law. We can show them that the world is still watching. If we block the vote for two more days until Parliament closes, the bill will expire forever.

With 48 hours to go, every moment counts. Over half a million of us have already joined the call -- let’s get to one million voices against Uganda's gay death penalty in the next 48 hours -- click here to take action, then forward this email to everyone:

For Frank and thousands of others, being gay in Uganda is already dangerous and terrifying. They are regularly harassed and beaten, and just months ago, Avaaz colleague and gay rights activist, David Kato (pictured above), was brutally murdered in his own home. Now LGBT Ugandans are threatened by this draconian law which imposes life imprisonment for people convicted of same-sex relations and the death penalty for “serial offenders”. Even NGOs working to prevent the spread of HIV can be imprisoned for “promoting homosexuality” under this hate-filled law.

Right now, Uganda is in political turmoil -- in the wake of the Arab spring, Ugandans across the country are taking to the streets, protesting high food and gas prices. President Museveni has responded by violently cracking down on the opposition. This upheaval has provided religious extremists in Parliament the perfect chance to slip in the shelved anti-gay bill just days before Parliament closes and all proposed laws are wiped from the books.

Museveni backed away from this bill last year after Obama called it an 'odious' law and international pressure threatened Uganda's aid and support. With violent protests sweeping the streets, Museveni is more vulnerable than ever. In the next 48 hours, let’s build a massive international outcry in support of respect for human rights, justice and tolerance and against the anti-gay death penalty law. Together we can save lives by stopping this bill -- sign below, then tell friends and family:

Earlier this year, we stood in solidarity with Uganda's equality movement to show that every human life, no matter what creed, nationality or sexual orientation, is equally precious. Our international petition condemning the gay death penalty law was delivered to Parliament – spurring a global news story and enough pressure to block the bill for months. When a tabloid newspaper published 100 names, pictures and addresses, of suspected gays and those identified were threatened, Avaaz supported a legal case against the paper and we won! Our community has funded security for gay rights activists and operational funding for gay rights organizations. Together we have stood up, time and time again, for Uganda’s gay community -- now they need us more than ever.

With hope and determination,

Emma, Iain, Alice, Morgan, Brianna and the rest of the Avaaz team

THE PSYCHOLOGICAL FEAR

Damn, what's troubling me? As soon as the doctor said that my glucose was
a little high (at 6.0) the max zone is 5.5. I went bonkers. Right in the hospital,
my whole body went into frenzy and into a panic mode. I told the doctor
concerned that I will take care of the sweet thing problem and promised
that in 4 months time, my glucose level should be back as normal.

I called up someone who could be better off as a dietitian and asked her for
directions and guidelines to reduce my sugar content in my body. She told me
it was not yet on critical stage, only if you hit 8.0 or 9 then you'll be categorise
as a diabetic patient. So her advice is to CUT down on ALL DAMN THINGS
THAT ARE SWEET.

Drink
Xango- This is not a problem well I've been drinking this
supplementary mangosten juice for many many months now, and I must say
this supplement does cut down on my high blood pressure

Take oats meal.-
so the next morning, mum prepared oats meal with
absolutely NO sugar! Yucck, that's one helluva tough breakfast !

Eat
Gardenia's wheat grain fibre breakthrough bread for the whole
day-
well I can't find this particular loaf in a few 7-11 so I settled for the fibre
bread also with no sugar content

No sugar in ALL drinks-
here everything is kosong but I'm used to take
drinks minus the sugar and milk unless it's a packed drink or bottled
drinks.

And lastly she said NO WHITE RICE!
OMG, can you imagine that! How can I live without rice? Then she suggested
that I could take a small portion of rice at one time.

Anyway, for the past 2 days I did follow the regime diet and I tell you what
it's crazy, absolutely madness to the core. And eventually my whole body
breaks down. It can't take NO MORE. I nearly dropped dead.

Every part of my body ached. From my head to my legs, the headache
was sooooo unbearable that on the 2nd day, I must have taken a dozen
Panadol tablets and at one point of time, I've to place iced cubes on my
forehead to stop the excruciating headache.

Then, it's my stomach to play havoc. I could feel my intestines wriggling
upside down and playing war. Man, the stomachache was even
worse than the headache. I visited the loo countless times, simply becos
the stomach is telling that it's rejecting the tasteless no rice food. The
stomach just wants the normal food that I've taken all these years of my life.

Guess how many packets of Po Chai Yin I have taken? 6 and another
2 tablets of Ultracarbon Charcoal to prevent the purging from
deteriorating further.

And of course my whole body was feeling damn weak especially my legs
becoming wobbly and I should considered myself sick but damn I got work
to do.

And this is happening to me becos of GLUCOSE at 6.0! Why?

Oh God please help.

p.s. thank you Mae

WHY PERKASA THEN?

“Once we divide ourselves into Chinese and Malays and
we fight each other, that’s the end of co-operation and
there will be no stability in the country,”
DR.M

Then pray tell me, why you're still supporting Perkasa, Tun?

SO BE IT IF.....

From The Malaysian Insider
The MCA, led by its president, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi
Lek,
had pledged to stay out of government if it failed to
improve its flagging support among Chinese voters in
the 13th general election, expected now to be called
anytime from August to early next year.
Dr Chua and his men
had warned the Chinese that they
stood to lose
if MCA had no seat at the government table.

Okay, as a Malaysian Chinese, I would do my part and vote for the opposition.
And let see how are the Chinese going to lose without any Chinese
representation in the BN government(assuming BN gonna win in the GE13).

I expect DAP to fight not just for the Chinese rights but fight for ALL
Malaysians least Chua forget in the current scenario, almost all Parliament
constituencies in urban Wilayah are won by the opposition parties!
So the urban Chinese, do they complain about being under oppositions? Of
course not, in fact the Chinese are finding the MCA more, and more irrelevant
as times go by.

Come GE13, if MCA does lose ALL, then wish Chua will keep his words:
NO
CHINESE IN THE GOVERNMENT.
