BUSINESS GETTING FROM BAD TO WORSE

Shit should be the appropriate word to describe today retail business status
especially in the Klang Valley. Everywhere I go and meet those retailers, they
will simply tell you that currently the retailing business is definitely going
downhill.
My own small business is down by least 40-50% in sales income for the
month of May. What is happening and why? Every damn thing is on the rise,
petrol, electricity bills, rentals, foodstuffs except your pay or your sales income.
What happened to the purchasing power of the ordinary customers? They all
seemed gone, nowadays they are more cautious with their spending and their
money in their wallets. Customers are getting fewer and fewer. Where the
heck are the regular customers who patronise your shop twice or 3 times
a week? They all seemed disappear into thin air!
Foreign visitors are definitely dwindling in contrast to the Tourism Ministry
claim that visitors to the country is increasing by the day.

I remember that this downturn in business happened in Malaysia during
Slumberjack premiership then it was okay when Najib took over as PM but
a year later we are back to square one- the retail business is suffering and
many outlets have closed shops prompting one dude (a businessman) to
say " Bring back Mahathir!" at least we were happy and were making money
in our business then but not at this point in time where a lot of business are
feeling the downturn heat.

If the sales trend will to keep going down for the next a few months and
not surprisingly, I too have to find another alternative of putting food on
the dinner table. I'm contemplating of becoming a cab driver. Serious.
