Just a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine had asked me
why the militant JI guy, Mas Selamat wasn't extradited to
Singapore, after all Mas Selamat is not Malaysia's baby but
Singapore's, my buddy argued.if you're with me you should feel 'selamat'.
Jokingly, I told my buddy that the Malaysian government will not
send Mas Selamat back to Singapore simply becoz we could make
Mas Selamat our bargaining tool in any negotiation situations
with Singapore government.
Malaysia could ask Singapore for any damn thing(like the 3rd bridge)
and if the Singapore don't oblige us or trying to be nasty with us
all we have to do is give the JI leader his freedom!! Mas Selamat
will scare the shit out of Singapore. Ha, ha.We could then tell
the world that Mas Selamat had escaped from our custody.
If the JI leader could escape from a Singapore maximum security
detention centre so escaping from our prison or any other prisons
in the world is no big deal!
And yesterday, we heard this from the Malaysian Home Minister...
The government did not extradite Singapore Jemaah Islamiyah
(JI) militant leader Mas Selamat Kastari to the island state due
to "security reason"
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin
Hussein said.here
For security reasons or as a bargaining chip with Singapore?
